Wars and Rumors of War: Is the End Near?
It’s hard to have a conversation with a group of Christians today without someone bringing up the idea that we are living in the “end times” or the “last days.” One argument used to support this idea is the perception that we have in our lifetime, seen a great proliferation of war and that war is one of the things Jesus spoke of when describing the days immediately before his return.
But have we really experienced a proliferation of war?
This video illustrates the global death toll from war, beginning with World War II. It then takes a look at deaths from war during past centuries, and finally at deaths during the last 75 years. The numbers may surprise you.
Facts are pretty powerful things.
Interesting demonstration of perspective. Note also that Jesus was talking about things that would happen before “the end”. Not actually his return. What the end meant is another study! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this video. It clarifies the fact that goodness is taking root in the earth.
Whoever put this presentation together did a spectacular job doing it. However, “Wars and rumors of wars” is only partially put together here. Vietnam, Korea, Syria, Afghanistan and on and on. ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, Hamas and on and on, I believe represent a new iteration of what constitutes “war”. I have no doubt in my head at all that this is the predicted time era that all of Christendom has been waiting for and we are THAT generation that saw the fig leaf push forth.
These are indeed exciting times we live in and we have not yet seen the big ones. Yet.
thanks for sharing this. It was quite fascinating…
Wonderful
