Confirmation of Traveling in the Spirit
Many people who travel in the spirit are uncertain that what they’ve done is real. Because these experiences often seem to be internal, confirmation that we’ve traveled somewhere can be difficult to obtain. Sometimes however, God arranges things in a way that provides confirmation. That’s the case with this story which was submitted by a friend. She gave me permission to share her story, but wishes to remain anonymous.
I first experienced spirit travel one night while on public transit. I was reading a book (not a spiritual one) and all of a sudden I saw in my mind’s eye Jesus going into my parent’s house. He was walking up their stairs and I got the impression that He was inviting me to go with Him. So I joined Him and as we got up to their TV room, He was touching my mom’s feet and inviting me to pray with Him.
After having this experience, I initially thought maybe it was my imagination, but later, I received some very encouraging news from her doctor regarding some medical tests that had been done. That gave me hope that perhaps my prayers for her with Jesus may have been an actual experience and not something I imagined.
I have done this numerous times since then and I’ve seen some interesting visions concerning the courtroom of heaven. In one of these experiences, I was once again praying for my mom. I walked up her stairs (in my spirit) and looked in the TV room but the room was empty. I then walked down the hallway to the door of their bedroom and saw my parents in bed asleep. I blessed her and moved on. I didn’t spend a lot of time there.
About two or three weeks later, my parents visited my hubby and I. As we were talking about spiritual things, she said she’d had a weird encounter that she thought was from “the other side.” She said she was lying in bed and heard footsteps throughout the top floor of their house and when she looked over at her doorway, she saw me standing there! She rebuked the “vision” and told it to leave because she thought it was bad, and it left!
For me this was a huge revelation, because, although I felt in my spirit my travels were significant to the prayers she needed, there was always a sense of doubt over whether they were real or not. Now that I’ve received confirmation of traveling in the spirit, I know I was not imagining this. It was real. And maybe it’s something Jesus wants us to do.
