Political commentators have proposed many theories about Nancy Pelosi’s intentions regarding the impeachment of President Trump. One theory popularized by people like Sean Hannity is that Pelosi became the unwitting victim of a power grab by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her squad of socialists. I reject that theory for two reasons.
Pelosi is a veteran of politics. She is far too experienced to be overpowered by a handful of freshman representatives. Although this narrative may be useful for galvanizing voters against the squad’s socialist platform, it doesn’t hold water. I also reject the theory because no elected leader controls the Democratic Party. That honor belongs to George Soros, who funds most of their activities and who receives taxpayer money thanks to the legislation they pass. Soros is the puppet master who calls every shot Nancy Pelosi takes.
Equally absurd is the narrative that Democrats are trying to remove Trump from office because they didn’t like the outcome of the election. President Trump intends to prosecute corrupt politicians and their puppet masters. Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and their media stooges are more acutely aware of this plan than anyone. (If you need evidence, look at how Bill Barr is being attacked by the media.) Their primary goal is concealing their own corruption from the public. A second objective is removing Trump from office before criminal indictments against them are made public. A third strategy involves projection—the portrayal of Trump as a criminal. They aren’t trying to remove Trump from office because they didn’t like the outcome of the election. They’re trying to remove him from office because if they don’t, they’ll spend the rest of their lives in prison.
The decision to impeach Donald Trump was made by George Soros long ago. His minions brought articles of impeachment up for a vote in the House six times before the whistleblower fiasco conveniently materialized. Impeachment in the House was a foregone conclusion. That’s why Pelosi didn’t bother taking a vote on the impeachment inquiry regarding the President’s phone call with President Zelinsky. Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, and other Dems in the House take their orders from George Soros and dutifully carry them out.
Of course, Dems know the Senate will never convict the President, but that’s not the goal of impeachment. Impeachment provides an opportunity for corrupt politicians to stand in front of a camera and accuse Trump of criminal behavior. Their partners in the media spread false claims to the public, and we’re expected to swallow it. George Soros is counting on the media to convince voters not to cast their ballots for Trump in November. Impeachment is a game of optics—nothing more than theater.
Pelosi rushed to get the articles of impeachment passed by the House because she needs them as a weapon, and she doesn’t know when the weapon will be deployed. Her statement this morning that she will hold onto the articles of impeachment until she’s ready proves that she’s waiting for a strategic time to use them.
What is that strategic time?
Groan all you want (or laugh), but Lindsey Graham is Pelosi’s biggest fear at the moment. Yes, I know all about Graham’s past. I know about his previous allegiance with John McCain. I know he was (and perhaps still is) a warmonger neocon. Many people refuse to trust Graham because it doesn’t seem like he’s helped President Trump. It’s understandable to think he isn’t helping when he stands by and watches the President be attacked by the swamp. But before the Inspector General report on FISA abuse was released, there was little Graham could do.
Now that the IG report is out, as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Graham has a legitimate reason to interrogate those who illegally spied on the President. Graham has announced his intent to subpoena Rod Rosenstein and Sally Yates, who signed off on Carter Page’s FISA application. He may subpoena Loretta Lynch and other high-ranking members of the Obama administration. Congressional hearings and investigations have limited prosecutorial power, but that’s not the point of congressional hearings. Graham’s hearings will be open to the public. They’ll provide an opportunity for voters to see and hear for themselves the facts regarding the illegal surveillance of President Trump.
Graham is about to expose criminality in government, publicly. That is what Nancy Pelosi fears most. The articles of impeachment are a weapon she intends to use against Graham and the Senate. As long as she’s withholding the articles, she’s hoping the Senate won’t schedule hearings since as soon as she transmits them, the Senate must suspend all committee hearings and hold a trial. Impeachment, at this point, is little more than an attempt to keep Lindsey Graham’s Senate Judiciary Committee from meeting.
Her ploy will, of course, fail. Graham’s committee will meet. Those involved in the illegal surveillance of the President will testify.
Nothing can stop what is coming.
