Deja vu…2020 all over again. Can’t say that I’m surprised. For anyone that is familiar with the 6 possible election scenarios outlined by Simon Parkes (one of which is supposed to be true/the plan), #5 is the one I’m hoping for and it sounds like we might be on track for that to happen. I’m curious to see what “very big announcement” President Trump will make from Mar-a-Lago on November 15th. Let the games begin!
In Canada, we still have mostly paper ballots and same-day results. The voter puts an X in the circle against the candidate name. This is not infallible either. In the last Quebec referendum, biased poll-vote-counters threw out slightly off votes and the number of “spoiled” ballots exceeded the difference between the “yes” and “no” votes. It’s clear that voting by machine is far more dangerous due to hacking and algorithms changing the vote. The voting in elections must be cheat-proof!
I’ve worked the polls for my local county for years – through 2 different types of voting equipment. Even the paper ballots are scanned and tabulated by machine. The tabulations from each polling place are sent to central where they are all combined for final results. And back in the 1980’s and 1990’s all the punchcards went through a neumatic system that read the punches and tabulated the results, no hand counting even back then. We won’t go back to hand counting. So we have to make certain those who are tabulating and programming for tabulation are accurate and without fail. Who can do that when the basecode can’t be reviewed? If we could be certain that all the final counting were done IN HOUSE and not by outside contractors we might be in a better situation. But quite frankly, I don’t see that happening. Folks have to get involved within the process and keep as much as they can within the guidelines of your own state’s laws. Those states with the least corrupt processes have already had their results posted and the races called. Those with more corrupt processes are still counting …
