Spygate Goes to A Grand Jury

Today, it was announced that Attorney General Pam Bondi has appointed an unnamed federal prosecutor to empanel a grand jury in an undisclosed location to investigate an alleged criminal conspiracy related to the 2016 election.

The grand jury will investigate those who have been referred to the Department of Justice in the Spygate scandal, including James Comey, James Clapper, and John Brennan. It was reported last week by Paul Sperry that the DOJ is “dusting off” a dozen criminal referrals previously made by Devin Nunes during his investigation of Spygate as House Intel Chair.

Those who conspired to prevent Donald Trump’s election and inauguration in 2016 are likely to be indicted in the coming weeks.

Previous attempts to prosecute Spygate conspirators were hampered by Washington, D.C. juries that were sympathetic to Democrats and hostile to Donald Trump. Many have speculated that because the FBI raided Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago as an act in furtherance of the conspiracy, the venue for the grand jury and prosecution will be the Southern District of Florida.

Coincidentally, the new US Attorney for that District had his nomination approved by the Senate two days ago.
